I mezzotinted the top to make these three seem like actors on a stage. I actually did the rough sketch in a pizza joint on College Ave in Ithaca. It wasn't my pizza either, the busboy had cleaned my table but I saw these on the next table and drew them there. I did this in February of 1978.
